Patient Care Advisor

Hudson River HealthCare ( HRHCare ) is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. HRHCare is currently seeking a per diem Patient Care Advisor to join our team in Coram.

A Patient Care Advisor is responsible for providing patient centered care and facilitating patient access to services in a pleasant, knowledgeable efficient manner, communicating with a diverse population using well-developed interpersonal skills. This staff member will be responsible for all aspects of answering telephone calls. They will route calls appropriately and manage appointments. Performs job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Patient Care Advisor:

  • Assists with daily reception activities and ensuring that all processes needed for patient services are initiated.

  • Communicates effectively with team members and patients about all aspects of service.

  • Responsible for telephone contact with patients and care team members.

  • Responsible for the scheduling of appointments, explanation of services and routing of calls.

  • Assists patients with all information related to HRHCare services and programs.

Minimum Education Requirement: High school diploma/ GED

Minimum Work-Related Experience: 2-4 years

We are a network of 28 community and migrant health centers located in Peekskill, Beacon, Poughkeepsie, Amenia, Dover Plains, Pine Plains, New Paltz, Goshen, Greenport, Haverstraw, Monticello, Middletown, Nyack, Suffolk County, Walden and Yonkers. Annually, we serve over 135,000 patients through well over 500,000 visits throughout a nine-county region in New York State.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
